Brian Fitzhugh is a freelance Writer, Filmmaker and CEO of Desert Fish Media Ventures, LLC in New York City. He received his MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University School of the Arts, and has a background in Film Production. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor teaching courses in Screenwriting, Video Arts Technology, and Contemporary Media at Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY) in New York City.
While pursuing his B.A. in Communications at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, he produced and directed 3 short films. His short film, Tumbleweed, was honored with the Jack Haley, Jr. Award for Outstanding Filmmaking and selected by the faculty for a screening at the Director’s Guild of America in Los Angeles. And while living in Los Angeles, he worked as an Assistant Model Maker for Stetson Visual Services, working on such films as: Total Recall, Dick Tracy, and Edward Scissorhands.
He was honored with a staged reading of his feature screenplay Cities of the Dead at the Homegrown Theater in Manhattan and produced the short film Girl Talk, featured on LOGO TV.
He founded Desert Fish Media Ventures to develop feature films and online content. He resides in New York City, writing and working as a Freelance Video Editor.
